Course Description
Contaminated air is hazardous to our health. It can burn our throat and lungs, damage vital organs, and potentially choke us to death. According to OSHA’s HAZWOPER standard, everyone who works in contaminated environments is required to wear respiratory protection. This safety training video explains the two types of respirators and how to use them; one type purifies the air through chemical means, and the other supplies clean air. For highly contaminated sites a respirator that provides its own source of pure air may be needed. This video covers proper fitting and maintenance of respirators necessary to keep the equipment in proper working order. Learn how to protect yourself and your coworkers from the hazardous effects of contaminated air by properly utilizing the respiratory protection equipment needed for your workplace.
