Course Description
This Video On Demand provides an overview of an automotive workplace Hazard Communication Plan, including Safety Data Sheets, container labels and the facility’s hazard communication program. Employees learn what information Safety Data Sheets provide under the Globally Harmonized System of classification and labeling of chemicals, and how to understand the GHS labeling system for containers. Properties of chemicals that are toxins, corrosives or irritants are discussed. The difference between flammables, combustible and gases is explained. A special section explains the use of personal protective equipment to minimize hazard exposure, and identifying what types of PPE to use. Providing this training to automotive repair facility workers raises their awareness of the hazards in the workplace, how they can protect themselves and their co-workers from these hazards, empowering them to be informed and work safely.
